Love of Reading Week fun
Some pictures from Love of Reading Week! My husband and father-in-law came to read (as well as some others). We had a good time with our reading buddies from Ms. Hinckley's class that week as well!

Field Trip!
Don't forget Monday, Feb. 20th is our field trip to La Posta Quemada Ranch at Colossal Cave. Please remember to dress your child in layers as it may be cold. They should wear jeans, their light blue field trip shirt, and comfortable walking shoes. Children should also have a lunch in a disposable paper or plastic bag and a water bottle. See you then for lots of rodeo fun!

Parent Teacher Conferences
With progress reports going out, now is a great time to meet and discuss how your child is doing. Please see the sign up sheet outside the classroom or let me know what other time you would like to meet. I will try my best to work with your schedule. I would LOVE to visit with everybody just to catch up, now that its over halfway through the school year!

We Love to Read!
All this week we will be doing fun activities to promote reading! We have several guest readers coming to class, so don't forget each day to ask your child who read a special book to them. We could always use more readers however! So if you are interested in reading to the class, please let me know. We can be very flexible and work with your schedule!

Book Fair Volunteers Needed
LPA Lakeside is in need of some committed parent volunteers for the Scholastic Book Fair! The volunteer will need to run/organize the book fair twice a year. This event is such a great opportunity for our families to get quality books at good prices and for our school to earn some much needed funds (and books as well)! Helping the school in this capacity covers your required volunteer hours for the year, as well as earns you incentives with the book fair itself. If you are interested in taking on this responsibility or in helping out at the book fairs in any way, please see Ms. Irma ASAP. Thanks!

Next week is Love of Reading week and Spirit Week. All week long there will be various fun activities promoting the love of reading! We still need mystery readers. If you are interested, let me know when you can come in and read a book to the class!
Be sure to take your 100 Day projects home since we are making way for the Timelines to be displayed!
