Extra work time during AIMS Week

Its that time of year where the whole school (2nd-8th) does their standardized testing. For us, not much is new! We won't be having any special classes this week such as PE, Art, or Computers so that will leave us with some extra time. Extra time is always good! We hope to fill it with some extended social studies, science, and writing activities.

We are gearing up for our final end of the year project which can be quite overwhelming for these little guys. They will be choosing an animal on which to do a report. We will model how to find information, take notes, write the project, and everything. Most of the work for this project will be done at home so we will be sending home a lengthy description of the expectations. Students will also be required to make a diorama of their animal and its habitat to go with their report. Once this project is completed, the students will present their product and report to the class. This really is a highlight for the children (and me, I might add...)! Have fun with it and let your child's best work shine!
